Art Walk, San Diego

January 13-19, 2014   6 nights fully escorted, $2695.00

Sunny Southern San Diego

Jane LaFazio, our special guest and art instructor, is coming to San Diego for a wonderful week-long program on the beautiful southern California coast.  This great city has so much to offer, see, and do, and we’ll be exploring the best of it.
Jane’s classes are perfect for beginners, or those wanting to practice and improve their techniques.  Using a pencil, a pen and a small set of watercolors, we’ll illustrate the details of this beautiful area.  Jane is known for her fun-loving, supportive instruction, and she will teach you to draw and paint in your own style, as unique to you as your handwriting.  You’ll learn how to capture the subject in pencil and then add watercolor in a quick, intuitive way.

The week is filled with painting classes as we stop to sketch and paint on small 5×7” journal size pages, at cafes, parks, and markets, with plenty of time to practice and see what inspires us for our next sketches.  We have several activities planned including strolls along the waterfront, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, Old Town, the Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village.  We’ve included a hop-on, hop-off all day bus tour, as well as a trip by train up to the wonderful city of Encinitas.
Friday night we’ll set sail for a harbor cruise around the San Diego Bay, including dinner onboard.  Saturday, after visiting Little Italy’s Morning Market, we’ll spend the afternoon enjoying a tea ceremony at the beautiful Westgate Hotel.   Our program ends Sunday morning, but before you go, we’ll compile a small book with all your pages of the Art Walk tucked inside.  Rather than a photo album, it will be the paintings you created along the way.  Now how’s THAT for a souvenir!
In order to maintain a small group experience, we limit the class to 10-12 guests.

What’s Included:

  • Six nights at our waterfront San Diego Hotel
  • All rooms with Bay View
  • Daily Breakfast
  • Round trip Airport Transfers
  • Jane LaFazio’s  program of classes including basic* course materials

Our Hotel, on Lake Como

George Clooney has a house on Lake Como. Just sayin.

We’ll visit Villa Carlotta and spend the day drawing and painting

Art Walk, Italy

May 24-30, 2014   $2850

This time to Italy’s lake district to spend a glorious week on the shores of Lake Como. We’ll be based in Bellagio for the week in our comfortable lakefront hotel, and explore this pristine region from there.  The program begins on a Monday, and we’ll have a welcome dinner Monday night.  Our days will be spent enjoying painting classes.  We’ll stop to sketch and paint throughout the day on small 5×7” journal size pages, at cafes, parks, and villas; and wander through the lovely towns on short guided walks to see what inspires us for our next sketches.  Classes are perfect for beginners, or those wanting to practice and improve their techniques.  Using a pencil, a pen and a small set of watercolors, we’ll illustrate the details of these beautiful Italian villages.

We’ve also included a visit to the picture-perfect Villa Carlotta, our favorite lakeside Villa and gardens and a full day cooking class in Varenna with Chef Moreno including morning cappuccinos and treats, lunch with wine, and afternoon limoncello.  You’ll love taking the ferries that ply the water of the lake, stopping at towns along the way.  We’ve also included a trip to Lugano, Switzerland. We’ll have our Arrivederci Dinner Saturday night, and our tour ends in Bellagio on Sunday.   But before you go, we’ll compile a small book with all your pages of the Art Walk tucked inside.  Rather than a photo album, it will be the paintings you created along the way. To maintain a small group experience, we limit the group to about 10 guests. More information here.  Register here.

Art Walk,  The French Riviera

June 1-7, 2014 $2850

The Blue Walk returns to the Cote d’Azur for our another week of our popular Art Walk program, strolling its gorgeous coast and meandering through its best-loved towns, with sketching and watercolor.

Each day we’ll stop along our walk to draw and paint the details that capture your interest – just quickly, and on small 5×7” journal size pages. Our stops could be a colorful French flower market, pausing along a shaded seaside promenade, touring a beautiful French Villa, or lingering at an outdoor cafe sipping café au laits. With the Cote d’Azur as our backdrop, inspirations are limitless.

At the end of the week, we’ll compile a small book with your pages and memories of the Blue Walk tucked inside.
